Today’s 30 Days Of Doing Good plea comes from the quarters of York Minster as it looks for volunteers to enhance the experience and enjoyment of people coming to the city. Without some 520 volunteers giving their time and enthusiasm, the Minster would not be able to provide as much for its worshipers or visitors.
People want to help for many different reasons. Some want to serve the Minster as an extension of their faith and worship, for some it comes from a love and appreciation of the building, its history and architecture and others come to meet people, learn new skills and to be part of the wider Minster community. We are looking for people from any age group, background or faith with a small amount of time to spare regularly, who would enjoy being part of the welcoming face of York Minster, who have a positive approach and an ability to communicate with a variety of people with different needs.
Time commitment ranges from 1 to 2 hours, once a week or once a fortnight, through to a considerable amount of time given by some of our volunteers.
With York Minster playing a key role in the York 800 celebrations, it is a particularly exciting time to get involved and give something back to this wonderful city.
To pledge your time or to simply find out more, click on the “pledge button” on the right hand side of this article and York Minster will be in touch.
