Love Cheese in York has been nominated for ‘Best New Cheese Retailer’ – sponsored by Speciality Food Magazine – at the 2012 British Cheese Awards.
The delicatessen-come-cafe offers a range of wines, coffee, gifts and of course an extensive range of cheeses. Promising to always have at least 70 cheeses in stock, Love Cheese has every colour, flavour, smell and texture you could possibly desire from a cheese. And if they don’t have what you want, they are more than willing to order it in.
The British Cheese Awards were established in 1994 by Juliet Harbutt to raise the profile of British cheese and to create a recognised symbol of excellence for all British cheese.
Judging will take place on 31 August in Oxfordshire and the winners are announced at an awards ceremony three weeks later. On the day after judging, the event ‘Cheese on the Green’ gives visitors an opportunity to see and taste over 900 varieties of the cheese left over. Heaven for cheese-lovers everywhere!
Following the ceremony on the 21, British Cheese Week will begin on 22 September, and the winners will be the focal point of the nationwide campaign to promote all British Cheese.
To help the judges make their decision, Love Cheese would like to hear from its customers. You can submit a comment to the judges if you think Love Cheese should win the award, by visiting their website, here.
