The 9th annual PocktoberFest beer and music festival will take place on Saturday 27 October and Sunday 28 October in the market town of Pocklington, a half hour drive from York on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. The event is officially supported by the Help for Heroes charity.
The organisers have announced two of the Sunday headline acts: Mercury Prize nominees Guillemots and the seminal post-punk rock band Echo & the Bunnymen, best known for hits such as ‘The Killing Moon.’ More act announcements will soon follow on their website.
As well as the live music line-up, the festival promises a large range of real ales, lagers and ciders selected by a team of beer tasters from all over the country.
Tickets go on sale at Pocklington Arts Centre this Thursday (31 May). Saturday tickets are priced at £10. Sunday tickets are priced at £43 for adults and £30 for under-18s. A family ticket costs £130.
