Tickets are now on sale for Elvis Costello’s upcoming mamoth UK 2013 tour, which sees him play York Barbican on June 17th. The extensive gig list includes 16 venues across the UK, and will begin at Birmingham Symphony Hall on May 31st.

The 3 hour set list will be enough to keep any Costello fan entertained, with the song order being generated entirely at random by an audience member spinning a huge wheel adorned with the names of Costello tracks (think Wheel of Fortune), which will then be played by Elvis and his backing band ‘The Imposters’

You can expect tracks from Costello’s whole back catalogue, including Pump It Up and Oliver’s Army, all of which will be determined by the wheel.

This will be costello’s first performance in York since his previous show at the Barbican in 1994 where he was backed by his then band ’The Attraction’. The Attraction keyboard player Steve Nieve and drummer Pete Thomas will be joined in The Imposters line-up by bassist Davey Faragher.

York Barbican are already selling tickets for the event, which can be bought through the theatre either on 0844 854 2757  or online at yorkbarbican.co.uk, priced at £42.50.
