York company, the Beautiful Meme has won two silver awards at the 2012 Fresh Awards.

The night was held last Thursday at the Midland Hotel in Manchester where they dominated the design category. It is interesting to note that since it was established in 2003, Fresh has had a policy of keeping the process of entering awards as transparent as possible.

The Beautiful Meme which  is based in Walmgate is a creative agency for brand and was named by The Drum magazine as one of the top UK emerging agencies of the last two years .

The first award the team won was the Lishi Tea award import hand-selected Chinese tea, grown by small-scale farmers. With so many other tea brands making much of their provenance with traditional Chinese illustrations, or their history by telling the story of tea, we wanted Lishi’s tone-of-voice and copy to strive for something new – without falling into the overdone, chatty Innocent-style voice.

The second award was the Battle of Bannockburn is a £9 million project to tell the story of one of the most pivotal moments in Scottish history. It will be opened by the National Trust for Scotland in 2014, the 700th anniversary of the battle. The company conceptualised and designed the project’s identity with consultation from Dalton Maag
