This morning the mother of Jordan Sullivan, aged 19, made an emotional appeal for her son to get in touch, one week after his disappearance.
Nicola Jobling addressed an ensemble of reporters at the scene of the last sighting of Jordan in Naburn, where she said “Jordan I’m desperately begging you – you gorgeous gorgeous boy – just to get in touch.
“If there’s any issue – you know you can talk to us about it and you know it can be solved.
“Come on Jordan, you know I don’t have to say I love you. Just come home to your family.”
The underwater search was called off Saturday, with combs of the riverbank also so far unable to locate missing Jordan.
Reports of a naked man running on a dirt track off Acaster Lane in Naburn first aired at approximately 9.30am on Tuesday 14 February morning after a dog-walker saw Jordan remove his clothes and run towards the River Ouse. Fears escalated as Jordan failed to show for work at Quartz Travel on the same day and dark descended. The reasons behind his behaviour that day are so far unexplained.
Jordan is described as white, approximately 5ft 9in tall with a slim build and short dark hair. Jordan also has a tattoo of a crucifix running between his shoulder blades.
PC Alex Dobson, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I am urging anyone who may have seen a naked man in area to contact the police immediately.
“I am also appealing to anyone who may have seen any unusual activity near the River Ouse.
“Jordan, if you see or hear this appeal please get in touch as I need to ensure that you are safe and well.”
If you can help to locate Jordan Sullivan please ring North Yorkshire Police on 101 and select option 1.
