From 18:00 at According to McGee on Tower Street, we will be revealing more about the chosen theme of “Hidden” and explaining the entry process, judging criteria, and prize. For anybody who cannot join us in person (and why wouldn’t you with wine on arrival!) then please revisit the Projects section of the site to find out more.
The New Chapter Arts Prize is opening its door to as many people as possible and will be free for anyone to enter.
The art will fall into one of three categories: Painting, Photography or Illustration. So, for all the budding sculptors, designers, photographers, and animators out there, this is your chance to really test your variation, or how to express your own style in a slightly different medium.
You are free to interpret our theme of “Hidden” however you see fit. All we want is that you are bold and original with the brief that we have given you. We want you to manipulate this in any way you want and wow us with your creation. All that we require is that you make it ‘Hidden’ and don’t be afraid to challenge us with your art.
Each week throughout the competition, the According to McGee team will be accompanied by a series of reputable guest judges to talk you through every step of the process, critiquing the entries to date and being transparent in their decisions as and when they are made.
The winners will receive a cash prize, an exhibition at the gallery, and lots of other prizes.
