To celebrate 20 years in the industry, the gargantuan Dazed and Confused have given us all a good reason to celebrate with them.
To coincide with the exhibition at Somerset House (open until 29 January 2012) they have brought out a glorious glossy book to remind us all exactly what they are capable of.
The story of how Dazed came about is reason enough to read this book.
Dazed began life as a fold out black and white poster in 1991. A young Jefferson Hack met Rankin whilst they were both studying at university. Utilising Rankin’s photography and Hack’s understanding of up and coming cultural phenomena Dazed and Confused was born.
This story is motivational gold for anybody in the publishing industry. The co- editors instinct and hard work has placed them as one of the go-to New Wave magazines of the last two decades.
The book is testament of this creative platform. With specially commissioned projects by the likes of Damien Hirst and Jake and Dinos Chapman this is a true celebration to the publishing companies irreverent attitude and subsequent notoriety.
