As One&Other reported back in July here, Laura May’s Rag & Bone presents Vagabond Bazaar will take place on Saturday 1 September from 11am at The Melbourne Centre, Fishergate.

This vaudevillian carnival will be much more than the average arts & craft fair, and will feature art, live magic, stalls, fortune tellers, performances, workshops and other curiosities including a ‘Plant Freak Show / Carnivorous Jungle’ from Wack’s Wicked Plants in Knaresborough .

As well as Rag & Bone herself, artists confirmed to attend include:

Rosie Korshidian, displaying her work and selling pieces – Mortimer Sparrow, who is working on new pieces for the bazaar -
and Becki Harper, an illustrator and children’s writer and the Reader’s Art winner in Bizarre Magazine 2012 -

Other stalls to look out for are The Penny Magpie, selling one off jewellery pieces and All Girls Are Magpies, whose bespoke jewellery and burlesque accessories will certainly fit in well with the artwork on show -

Children’s author Anne M Stephenson, will be holding a book signing at the event -
and Pauline Carney from Paul Carney Art will be telling fortunes and selling artwork at her Palmistry Parlour -

There’s still some space stall space available for side shows and curiosities to really make this event come alive, if you would like to be involved please contact Rag & Bone at astaroth_sky@hotmail.co.uk.
