University of York is set to receive funding from the Arts Council as part of the Renaissance Strategic support fund.
The University will be awarded £40,000 for a project ‘supporting good practice in diversity, equalities, audience development and participation through data portal and regional networking’.
The Lawrence Sterne Trust, based in Coxwold near York will also receive funding of £50,000 over a three year period. The funding will allow the Trust to commission three performances set to take place at York Minister involving students from 4 local schools.
Earlier today, Arts Council England announced the 82 grant recipients that will receive £7 million of funding in a list that included both organisations mentioned.
This particular kind of news is not the first involving a local organisation. Earlier this year in May, the York Museums trust received £840,000 as part of the Museum Development fund.
Arts Council England has also stated on their website that organisations that are involved in activities next year from April 2013 are encouraged to apply for the 2013-2014 application. This will apply to museums and entries must be received by 10am on 30 October. Apply here on the Arts Council website.
