Stuart GouldenA RAF Rescue helicopter undertook an apparent training exercise for 30-minutes over York Minster this afternoon stopping hundreds of onlookers in their tracks. Dominating the skyline with an unholy roar, the Sea King helicopter could be seen approaching the two west towers at 14:30 before opening its doors and hovering over the crossing tower for 10 minutes before repeating the same drill three times over.
It is understood a dummy casualty was the focus of the mock rescue operation.
