A riverside hotel in York has been put up for sale for a staggering £18 million. The 3 star Park Inn by Radisson Hotel located on North Street overlooking the River Ouse is to no longer rest in the ownership of Jefferson Hotels as it is put on the market by Savills Estate Agents this week.

The Park Inn by Radisson Hotel is one of York’s most popular hotels offering over 200 en-suite bedrooms, a 120-cover bar, a 20-cover lounge bar and grill and 13 modern meeting rooms. It also boasts a waterfront restaurant as well as a fitness centre that incorporates a work-out room, sauna and dance studio.

The sale of this multi-storey contemporary hotel, which prominently lights up the city’s riverside skyline, comes after £5.5 million worth of refurbishments to the building since 2008.

The hotel forms part of the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel chain which has 140 hotels across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. It is also under the umbrella ownership of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group who have a portfolio of 1,319 hotels in 81 countries. As the ninth largest hotel company in the world, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group have a number of distinct global brands including Radisson Blu, Park Plaza Hotels and Country Inns & Suites.

According to James Bradley, hotel associate of Savills who are dealing with the sale of the Park Inn Hotel said that this would be a “rare and excellent” opportunity to invest in York’s strong and continually expanding hotel industry.

Park Inn by Radisson will join on the market another York hotel, the 41-acre Burn Hall in Huby, which is currently on sale with Savills for £4.5 million.
