York City’s FA Trophy-winning heroes will be honoured at Manson House tomorrow with a Civic Reception at 1:00 pm. After their wonderful achievement in the cup this year, culminating in the 2 – 0 win at Wembley against Newport County on Saturday, there will be  a group photo out side Mansion House with players and management staff.

The club are welcoming supporters to get down to Mansion House tomorrow to show their support and appreciation for what has so far been a fantastic season of football at Bootham Crescent.

Emma Courtney, Commercial Sales Executive at York City said,”This is a very special occasion for everyone involved in the football club, and for everyone who has supported the team along the way. We really hope that supporters will get behind the lads and go down to the Civic Reception to greet players, show their support, and join in the celebrations! This is a great time for York City to be proud of all that we achieved on Saturday!”

Goals from Matty Blair and Lanre Oyebanjo claimed the FA Trophy on Saturday and with a second trip to Wembley coming up on Sunday with the play-off final against Luton, the season could be about to get even better. There are still tickets available and the more support the Minstermen get the better for what will be a tough match against Luton. Tickets can be purchased from the club’s website here.
Now that the hangovers from the post-FA Trophy celebrations have cleared it now looks to be a pivotal week for York City both on and off the pitch. As well as the all important play-off final on Sunday, the club are also expecting a decision on the community stadium plans this Thursday (Click here for full story). The meeting of the Council Planning Committee will take place at 10:00 am Thursday 17 May at the Park Inn Hotel, and members of the public, including York City supporters, are able to attend.
