Stuart GouldenA York hotel has boosted its eco credentials by becoming the first in the sector locally to install free Electric Car charge points.
York Marriott has joined the likes of Waitrose to offer the service to its customers as the prospect of zero petrol costs or road tax are becoming increasingly appealing to motorists.
Over the next three years major motor manufacturers including Vauxhall, Ford, Renault, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes and Toyota will have plug in cars on the market and by the end of this decade it is widely forecast that one in ten new cars will be electric.
The project also aims to support carbon reduction amongst individuals and organisations.
