Both University of York and York St John have been nominated for this year’s Times and Higher Education Awards. The shortlist for this year’s Awards 2012 is said to “single [s] out those who uphold, and exceed, the standard of excellence” in the world of academia.
University of York are nominated in a variety of awards: Widening Participation Initiative of the Year, Most Innovative Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Support for Early Career Researchers. David Smith from the Chemisty Department of University of York is up for The most innovative teacher award for his work in Dendrimer, Supramolecular and Nanoscale Chemistry.
York St John University are also over the moon to be up for the award for Most Improved Student Experience – something indicative of all their very successful rebrand over the last few years.
The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on 29 November at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
