The men’s eight rowing final on Wednesday will see Tom Ransley, star of York City Rowing Club, race alongside his Team GB crewmates for gold after winning today’s repechage. Leading from the start, the British crew stormed to victory at Eton Dorney with a time of 5:26.85.
Wednesday’s final will see them take on reigning world champions and gold medal favourites Germany, alongside the USA in what promises to be an oar-inspiring clash of sculling talent.
Based in the centre of York, York City Rowing Club boasts over 200 members of all abilities, from beginners to Elite rowing champions. It is here Ranley has shone in his training, winning eight medals across four years of competing. One&Other wishes him and his team mates best of luck in Wednesday’s final.
