Favourite things about living here:
How beautiful the city is, especially in autumn and winter. Everything is so small, quaint and old-fashioned, and I love how all the streets sort of twist and interlace together. There’s so much to explore in York.
Best bars:
Dusk, House of trembling madness, stone roses
Best insiders tip:
York is always nicer to visit later in the year when it’s not as packed with tourists.
Icon:
I don’t really have one, but lots of different people inspire me for completely different reasons.
Best view of the city:
From the top of the Minster or any rooftop
Favourite shop:
Cath Kidston. I can’t actually afford anything in there but everything is just so pretty!
Best place to eat:
Oscar’s for an evening meal and Lucia’s for their cheap but lovely pasta and cocktails.
This time next year I will be:
Living back at home saving up to buy a flat, and hopefully working in a newspaper or publishing company.
Top 5 bands:
I don’t really have that many to be honest! My music taste changes like the weather, and I’m not that much of a band girl. Not exactly bands but I do love Paolo Nutini and Johnny Cash.
Favourite era:
Definitely the Roaring Twenties in America. It was a time when war was over and everyone was entitled to be optimistic, have fun and go just a little bit wild. Everything was all parties, jazz music, money, entertainment and beauty.
If I was an animal I would be a:
Fierce lion. GRRRRR!
