I moved to York from the West Midlands in 2009 to study English Literature. It’s a city where the streets are paved with literary history. I’ll be graduating this year, and there’s a three-year hoard of books waiting when I do.

I’m interested in the hold a book can have over its readers. I like getting lost in libraries and bookshops, and finding old stories with broken spines and fractured bindings. Literature lets me engage with how narratives are told, what makes characters tick, and why they live, or die. I also like strange-looking houses, woods full of trees growing out of shape, and writing.
