Paris, but Amsterdam is a close second

The view of the Ouse from outside Pitcher and Piano is always nice, especially after a film at Cityscreen next door.

The people. I have never met a more diverse, creative, interesting and friendly bunch

Kennedy’s for the live music, Evil Eye for the beds, The Victoria Pub for the quiz night, The Habit, Blue Fly, Pivni for the cask beers...the list goes on.
Best insiders tip:
York is a city of festivals and events. Food markets, York Carnival, the annual Dragon Boat races...make sure you always check what’s on so you don’t miss out.

Best view of the city:
The view as you come out of York Art Gallery; the Minster in the background, the fountain in the foreground, King’s Manor to your right...it’s all rather lovely.

Evil Eye. Nothing beats their great value Thai green curry, and the ‘Monster Sunday Lunch’ is a weekend must-have.

I can’t do top 5 lists, I like too many things. However, for now I’ll go with: The Black Keys, The Velvet Underground, Cat Power, Bob Dylan and Radiohead. I’m going to move onto the next question before I change my mind.
