The view as you come out of York Art Gallery; the Minster in the background, the fountain in the foreground, King’s Manor to your right...it’s all rather lovely.

In a perfect world, at film school

Top 5 bands:

I can’t do top 5 lists, I like too many things. However, for now I’ll go with: The Black Keys, The Velvet Underground, Cat Power, Bob Dylan and Radiohead. I’m going to move onto the next question before I change my mind.

New Orleans in the 40s, New York in the 50s, London in the 60s.

If I was an animal I would be a:

An Emperor Tamarin. The facial hair says it all

My name is James, but my friends call me Jamie. I’m currently studying English Literature at the University of York, graduating in 2012. I like to consider myself a bit of a film buff, which helps to make up for my complete lack of sports knowledge. Outside of my degree, I am currently Vice Chair of UYFS (University of York Filmmaking Society), and Video Director of The Yorker. If you’re ever on campus, pop into V Bar and I’ll pour you a perfect pint.

When at home in the South, I work as a production assistant at the National Film and Television School whenever I can. I live in Berkshire, but if you can’t find me there, I’ll probably be in central London, or drinking by the Thames in Twickenham with old friends. I love making and watching films, taking photos, discovering new authors, pretending to play the guitar and listening to records.
