I live and work in York with my husband Nick and my four year old son, Luke.

After graduating from Durham in 2001, I moved to London where I lived  in Soho wedged between Ronnie Scott’s jazz club and an open all hours karaoke bar. I wrote songs and worked with various jazz musicians around the city, performing in places such as Ronnie Scott’s and The 100 Club.

I met Nick in 2004 and decided to swap the songwriting for copywriting. Luke was born in 2007 and we moved to York two years later where I began an MA in Creative Writing which produced my first novel, Soho 4am, a coming of age novel set in the 24 hours before 7/7.

Apart from my family, and books, my two main passions are cooking and all things ‘green’, which is why I’m delighted to be writing a food column and ‘green heroes’ feature for One&Other. I hope you enjoy…
