Role at One&Other:
Favourite time of year:
Autumn and Spring - I like the in-betweens as opposed to the extremes
Favourite travel destination:
I'll always have a soft spot for the city of Chania in the Greek island of Crete. It's where my mum was born and where I went on holiday yearly till I was about 14. The view from our balcony in the flat we have there is incredible.
Secret hideout in York:
I love reading on the windowsill in my bedroom. But otherwise, it has to be the not-so-secret Museum Gardens on a sunny day.
Favourite things about living here:
York is so niche! There's so much to find, but it also caters for specialist interests in a unique way, so I love discovering new coffee shops or revisiting architecture like the Minster.
Best bars:
Evil Eye - it feels like parts of North London (home) crammed into one tiny little space. And Dusk, simply for the mystery involved in ordering a "Milky Bar Kid"
Best insiders tip:
There's more to York than what's in the walls - stroll around the suburbs too.
Icon:
Shakespeare. I'm a walking cliché of a Literature student.
Best view of the city:
Not so much of the city, but the view of the Minster from the Lamb & Lion's beer garden is beautiful.
Favourite shop:
I love the things you can find in Shared Earth up on High Petergate, by the Minster gates.
Best place to eat:
Georgina's or Bettys. Tearoom eating is the way forward.
This time next year I will be:
A graduate of the Uni of York (hopefully), and probably unemployed.
Top 5 bands:
Here's 5 from an extensive list… Ed Sheeran, Gaga, Jamie Cullum, Regina Spektor. I don't listen to Belle & Sebastian nearly enough.
Favourite era:
The late 50s, without them we wouldn't have Mad Men. And the 12th and 13th centuries - we wouldn't get Arthur and his knights otherwise.
If I was an animal I would be a:
Cat. My two seem to have to far too much fun just existing. Maybe I'll be an Aristocat, like the Disney ones.
