Do you know a certain little someone who is only happy when they are building something and getting their hands dirty? Is you house full of papier mache creations? Do you wake up each morning to the sound of a superstar singing in their bedroom?
Paper Planes & Daisy Chains are back with a brand new term, brand new look, brand new venue and brand new collaboration. So much new, but still the same high quality children’s Theatre and Workshops.
As before, Paper Planes & Daisy Chains will be offering a rounded theatre-making experience covering all aspects of putting on a performance, from acting and singing to costume and puppet making. Their youth theatre workshops are tailored to encourage young people to learn how to utilise their creativity whilst having fun and making friends, working together on literacy through their reading and learning lines: keeping active and improving co-ordination through movement and dance.
Paper Planes & Daisy Chains’ new collaboration with the wonderful and sparkling Miss Trout renowned local children’s storyteller and illustrator of bespoke crafts, has brought about the start of a new age group of workshops. Bringing her own brand of storytelling, crafting and imagination, the company are relaunching their workshops for 5-8 year olds but starting new sessions for 3-4 year olds too.
Workshops will be held at Little Green Rascals Day Nursery on Tadcaster Road: winners of the Nursery of the Year Award in The North of England 2016 from the NDNA (National Day Nursery’s Association.)
Hannah Wallace, one of three artistic directors of Paper Planes & Daisy Chains, says: “We are really excited about our new venue. Little Green Rascals is such a vibrant, friendly and exciting with a real emphasis on encouraging little ones to take an interest in the outdoors, and being active. Something that is close to our hearts.”
“Bringing crafty theatrical magic to tinies is what Paper Planes & Daisy Chains is all about," says Anna Rogers. "As Miss Trout, I specialise in working with 3 years up, so when we formed our collaboration, so introducing sessions for 3–4 year olds felt like a natural progression and an exciting adventure. I’m constantly amazed by the creativity little ones can produce given materials, support, encouragement and a platform. I am really excited to see participants grow, flourish, explore, lose and find themselves in our new workshops.”
