Revenge of the Nerds: Geekfest York

We’re a little over a week away from GeekFest, York’s best pop-culture & comic convention. Open to everyone, and held at the University of York on 15/16 October, it’s going to be a great weekend with artists, dealers, special guests and more. Here are some of the highlights:

The Big Geek Quiz It’s time to test out your knowledge of all things geek with the biggest, most challenging quiz around. Entry is free and there are lot of prizes to be won.

The Nerd Father Join Brighton Comedy Festival Squawker Awards finalist, BBC Radio sketch writer and multi award-winning costume maker Paul Jones as he presents his guide to parenting for nerds. Learn how to combine fatherhood, prop making, stand-up comedy and a lifelong obsession with science fiction, in this multimedia comedy show that boldly goes, where no Dad has gone before…

Quidditch Workshop and Show Match Want to learn how to play Quidditch? Well the HogYork Horntails are ready to give you the primer on how to do it. They’ll also be facing off against the Leeds Griffons to show you what high level Quidditch is like.

The Cosplay Masqurade Come and see the best Cosplay York has to offer. Why not enter yourself? With fun and prizes, it’s an event not to be missed.
