On 5 May, come along to the Fete Champetre, a rather special garden fête organised by Alliance Francaise de York.

Expect a fun-packed day of activities, including a guided tour of YUMI’s (York Unifying and Multicultural Initiative), allotments and beautiful garden, French music to listen to and lots of fun games to enjoy. Bring your own picnic along, or even better, order a YUMI platter of finger foods that come from all around the world, for £11, along with a drink for you and your friends and family to nibble. Make sure to pre-book the food at afdy@allfrance.fsnet.co.uk or telephone at 01904 658527.

Established in 1883 in Paris, the Alliance Française was the first organisation to teach French around the world. Today it is the largest collection of French teaching associations with over 1,000 schools in 138 countries.

Its aim is to promote and widen access to French language and culture and to encourage a friendly dialogue between cultures through education and cultural exchanges.
