Yorkshire’s answer to Glastonbury, the Galtres Festival will take place for the eighth year over the August Bank Holiday. There will be five stages of music and cabaret to be enjoyed with over 150 authentic Yorkshire beers and ciders, including Black Sheep Ale and Ampleforth Abbey Cider, and local food, including Whitby scampi and Yorkshire puddings.
Not just for adults, Galtres Festical has plenty of activities to kids, from film making to music workshops. The range of performances is wide- the festival will feature well-known bands, obscure artists, pop, acoustic, jazz, blues, ska, comedy and theatre performances and films! Galtres is organic, fairtrade, green, has clean toilets and all proceeds go to charity.
The line up includes Ash, The Buzzcocks, Adam Ant, Guillemots, Mac Raptor and The Heather Findlay Band.
