One&Other is teaming up with National Conversation: a non-party campaign to find new ways to get people engaged with politics, to lay on a rather exciting evening of political exploration.

We’re looking for 20 people to join us next Wednesday (17 October) at our new studio, The Creative Chapel, to explore and discuss the current condition and future possibilities of the welfare state using prompts such as giant Lego (yes Lego!).

In the 70th anniversary year of the Beveridge Report, Andy Chapman from Change the Conversation will lead an informal session made up of our readers to play with giant boxes of Lego – and use it to build – literally – their ideas. A 2-3 minute video will be produced of the event, however don’t worry… individual responses or political responses will not be attributed to anyone inside the room.

If you’d like to try something new and explore your political ideas in a fun way, this is for you. The session will be low pressure throughout and refreshments will be provided.

Building the Conversation is the precursor to a more conventional forum the following night in York led by Claire Fox, founder of British think tank the Institute of Ideas.

To register your free place for the Wednesday event at The Creative Chapel, simply fill out the booking form here: yorkconversation.eventbrite.com

See you on the night!
