Jorvik Gilbert and Sullivan Society
Jorvik Gilbert and Sullivan Company will be returning to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in September for the sixth time with their production H.M.S. Pinaforewhich.
Formed by four University of York graduates, the Jorvik Gilbert and Sullivan group prides itself on its inclusive nature, involving anyone who has enough enthusiasm in the chorus.
They first performed at the JRT in 2009 with their well received version of Patience. This year, a cast of 30 ranging in ages from early 20s to 70+ will be performing one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most well known and best loved operetta, H.M.S. Pinafore. Director Kayleigh Oliver joins Jorvik for her take on sees the ship sail into the roaring 1920s.
