Alice Ostapjuk brings her quirky brand of folk-pop music to York Art Gallery’s season of lunchtime concerts throughout August. Alice is a young artist who has been gigging in York for a few years now, culminating in a performance with Benjamin Francis Leftwich at the Duchess last year.

Alice’s style has been described as “sweetly unique” crossed with a “raw soulful voice” – comparisons have been drawn between her and Marina and the Diamonds, and VV Brown.

Her debut EP is available on iTunes. “Hush..It’s no secret” features songs like “Samuel’s Secret” and “Paper Plane and Shooting Stars” covering themes such as lost love with a humour and playfulness which is individual to the folk-pop genre. Alice’s place in this series of concerts is set to act as an interesting break from the office, or just something different to break up your regular concert going.
