The term ‘local musician’ tends to carry with it connotations of someone who will remain just that, local. Yorkshire singer/songwriter Mark Wynn, having toured for the last few years, is already beginning his journey to national recognition. His music, an idiosyncratic mixture of blues, country and spoken word, is daring without being confrontational. It is consciously wordy, strange and changeable. His influences are as disparate and contrasting as his songs and his live gigs have become known for showcasing as much of his personality as his music. He is launching his new cassette in York, a split cassette alongside Sam Forrest, called “it hasn’t got a title yet but when I think of it I’ll let you know, the album”.
