It started out as a solo acoustic act under the name of Josh Savage before he was joined by fellow University of York students Rob Stonehouse (bass/back-up vox), Ollie Brenig-Jones (drums) and new guitarist Harry Lister (lead guitar) to form Taming The Savage!
Taming The Savage write songs on anything, from love to alarm clocks to kidnapped blow-up dolls. They formed in May 2010, and then began playing gigs later in the year at various campus bars and house parties, and have already seen some success by being played several times on BBC Radio York via BBC Introducing.
So far, the band has released one EP named “Empty Room”, which sold out instantly at their performance at Woodstock Festival. They recently reached the regional finals of Live & Unsigned in Newcastle, toured the UK in summer and have also been offered a publishing deal.
Support comes from Cut Corners + Calls Landing.
