York based arts enterprise New Visuality has recently been dealt a lucky hand in the form of Tom Palin, a multi award winning artist with achievements such as The Hunting Arts Prizes Young Artist of the Year Award and the Gilchrist-Fisher Award, which was previously won by the infamous Peter Doig, under his belt. Palin’s “Against the Grain” collection will certainly make a splash at New Visuality’s gallery of choice According to McGee, located near Clifford’s Tower. Palin’s “Against the Grain” is a real coup for According to McGee as it reflects well on the emerging artists that New Visuality have sourced with his style fitting the gallery’s perfectly.

Because there are currently very few contemporary art galleries in Yorkshire this means that a visit to see Palin’s work would be worth it as New Visuality’s director, Maria Rodgers, spent a long time finding painters who are edgy, witty and most crucially, talented which she certainly found in with Palin, an artist at the top of his game, at the cutting edge of northern painters even so we’ll all be better for his presence in York. Greg McGee is pleased with the collaboration between the art enterprise and the gallery stating, “New Visuality has done all of the hard work. We’re honoured to be exhibiting such luminous talents, and to be reminding people that the rumours of painting’s demise have been greatly exaggerated”
‘Tom Palin: Against the Grain: A New Visuality Project’ runs from 8th of September to the 24th of September.
