This November the ever-popular and highly-acclaimed Thor’s tipi bar will return to York’s city centre, as part of York’s Christmas Festival which runs from 17 November right through to Christmas.
Last year saw the arrival of Thor’s – a Christmas pop-up bar – and in just six weeks, over 50,000 people visited this cosy venue and festive attraction that plays on Yorkshire’s Viking heritage.
Commencing Thursday 17 November as part of the Christmas city switch on, Thor’s will once again open its doors to Christmas shoppers and revellers alike. Two linked canvas tipis will form the bar, festooned with lighting and decked out with wooden tables and benches, cosy furs and a fire pit. An outdoor heated area will allow customers to soak up the festival atmosphere whilst watching the hustle and bustle around them.
Local breweries Brass Castle and Brew York will be serving lagers and draft ales including Thor’s Thunder guest beer. Mulled wine, hot cider and a fully licensed bar will ensure there is something to warm everyone’s cockles. A hot chocolate station allows kids, big and small, to choose a topping for their homemade chocolate treat.
Serving delicious local fare will see the return of York’s favourite foodery, Shambles Kitchen, and for those craving something sweet, Donut Kitchen keeps us in treats all season.
Located at Parliament Street, York, YO1 8RU (just in front of the Halifax bank), THOR’S tipi bar York will be open from 10:30am to 11pm daily from 17 November to 1 January (closed Christmas Day).
