Trafalgar Bay: Regenerated

By Anna Rogers | 12th January 2019

Trafalgar Bay

The Trafalgar Bay Pub you thought you knew has been regenerated. Not simply just a lick of paint and a new landlady and landlord. Think bigger. Much bigger. A whole brand spanking new lease of life.

Imagine the traditional Sam Smith pubs we know and love … and then some. Trafalgar Bay has been boldly revamped into so much more than just a pub. It is now a much-needed community hub in York that caters for all. A space where small businesses are given platforms to showcase their work in the form of social gatherings. Non-discriminatory with its family friendly, dog friendly, autism friendly and just about anyone friendly ethos. Something which the rest of York’s thriving pub scene struggles to successfully achieve. Reasonably priced draft beers, ales, and tipples as well as a vast array of non - alcoholic beverages. A no swearing policy and zero tolerance on aggressive or drunken behaviour, raucous hen parties or stag dos and no fruit machines or frills. Just good old fashioned banter, cosy fires, a pool table, and board games and books aplenty, all oozing Yorkshire charm.

Landlord and Lady, Phil and Sarah, have poured a whole lot of love and passion into this place and it really shows. The pub has become incredibly popular and well known for its social events including crafting sessions, meet and greet socials, quizzes, and fundraisers. There is a real sense of belonging here meaning no-one is ever not ‘part of the family’. B E A U T I F U L .
